Celebration of Ayurveda Day by Embassy of India, Phnom Penh

Ministry of Ayurveda, Yunani, Siddha & Homeopahty (AYUSH), Government of India celebrated 5th Ayurveda Day in India as well as abroad. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave an address dedicating two Ayurvedic Institutes to nation. A Seminar on Covid-19 and Ayurveda was organized.
As part of 5th Ayurveda Day celebration in Cambodia, Embassy of India, Phnom Penh through Ministry of Health invited various health professionals in the field of conventional medicines, wellness centers etc. to participate in these virtual events and highlighted the features of age-old conventional system of medicine of India.
Embassy of India disseminated information on Ayurveda through various channels including social media sharing details of various important Ayurveda products. Detailed information on medicinal plants of Ayurveda with Geographical Indication (GI) tag has also been posted on Embassy’s social media. Information on Global Ayurveda Market has also been circulated to various stakeholders in Cambodia and posted on social media.
In addition, Ambassador Dr. Devyani Khobragade presented hampers of Ayurvedic products to reputed doctors, practitioners and wellness centres including the talented singer and social influencer Nikki Nikki whose video may be seen at her FB page. Embassy of India intended to organize a seminar on the theme “Ayurveda for Covid-19 Pandemic” at International University in Phnom Penh. However, the same had to be cancelled due to unavoidable reasons.
Ayurveda is age-old system of medicine since time immemorial. Physicians of ancient India such as Dhanvantari, Sushrut, Charak etc. made significant contribution to growth and institutionalization of Ayurvedic system of medicine. Ayurveda has been a credible form of medicine and wellness in India since its known history and with passage of time credibility of the system has increased manifold.
Government of India in its effort to promote general well being of humanity across the globe keeping in view India’s ancient philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ (World is one family)’ is organizing Ayurveda Day since 2016. Embassy of India in Phnom Penh wishes the people of Kingdom of Cambodia may benefit from the old age asset and expertise of India in the field of medicine.
