Nalanda University: Last Date of Application for Admission 2020 Extended to 30 April 2020
Due to pandemic lockdown in India, Nalanda University extended the last date of new admission for the academic year 2020-2012 for the second time in a row. Last Date of Application for Admission 2020 Extended to 15 June 2020.
Nalanda University expended its deadline of application for admission 2020 to 30 April 2020. Interested students have to apply for admission only at its online portal at URL: https://online.nalandauniv.edu.in/app/

All applicants need to demonstrate a high level of competence in the English language, as all courses will be conducted in English. English language test scores of TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, PTE, STEP are accepted.

There is a specific scholarship for foreign nationals under CLMV Scholarship to undertake their study in Master courses at Nalanda University, Rajgir, Bihar State of India. This scholarship is provided to students from Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar and Vietnam, two each country. You are advised to contact the Indian missions abroad for further information.
About Nalanda University
Nalanda University (also known as Nalanda International University) is an international and research-intensive class located in the historical city of Rajgir, in Bihar, India. It was established by an Act of Parliament to emulate the famous ancient university of Nalanda, which functioned between the 5th and 13th centuries.
The idea to resurrect Nalanda University was endorsed in 2007 at the East Asia Summit, represented mostly by Asian countries including China, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam, apart from Australia and New Zealand, and as such, the university is seen as one of the flagship projects of the Government of India.
It has been designated as an "International Institution of National Importance" by the Parliament and began its first academic session on 1 September 2014. Initially set up with temporary facilities in Rajgir, a modern campus spanning over 400 acres is expected to be finished by 2020. This campus, upon completion, will be the largest of its kind in India, and one of the largest in Asia.
The first Chancellor of the university was Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, followed by former Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo. Prof. Sunaina Singh is its the current Vice-Chancellor. Nalanda is exclusively a graduate school, currently only offering Master's courses, with PhD programmes starting in gradual phases from 2020.
Notably, there are about 3-4 Cambodian students are currently studying in NU under CLVM scholarships. Rajgir is also one of the important Buddhist sites in India visited by international Buddhist pilgrims and tourists. Two Cambodian Buddhist monasteries have already been established in this historic site of Buddha.
