On 18 January 2020, we explored the Chandra Mahal’s secret, magical rooms such as Chhavi Niwas (blue and white decoration), Sri Niwas (the mirror palace), Shobha Niwas (Rang Mahal) and Royal Living Rooms. After that, we came to Sarvato Bhandra courtyard before we proceeded to Pashmina shopping. Video ended at the local restaurant where we had tried local food and found it uniquely delicious.
The City Palace, Jaipur was built at the same time as the city of Jaipur, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court to Jaipur from Amber Palace, in 1727. Jaipur is the present-day capital of the state of Rajasthan, and until 1949 the City Palace was the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The 41st and current king of Jaipur is Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh who is as young as 23 years old.
The City Palace is private property and run by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust. It is open for tourists 2000 INR for students (local & foreign) and 3000 INR for general visitors Royal Splendor (special ticket). It is a bit costly but worthy. It is attractive for photography for the model, fashion and the like.
However, there are different types of tickets for entry with different services as follows.
For the museum and exterior - INR 200 for Indian adults and INR 100 for children 5-12 yrs For night visit- INR 500 for Indian adults, INR 250 for children 5-12 yrs, INR 1000 for adult foreigners, INR 500 for foreigner children 5-12 yrs For a composite ticket- INR 300 for Indian adults and INR 200 for children 5-12 yrs, INR 700 for adult foreigners, INR 400 for foreigner children 5-12 yrs
