Inauguration of Regular Yoga Session to be Organised in National Stadium, Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: Embassy of India, Phnom Penh and Ministry of Education, Youth & Sport, Kingdom of Cambodia jointly inaugurated regular Yoga sessions to be organized in National Stadium, Phnom Penh by the Teacher of Indian Culture of Embassy of India. 

Inaugural session was hosted by Dr. Hang Chhon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport with Ambassador of India to Cambodia as Chief Guest. Ambassador in her remark highlighted the history of Yoga including its origin, its role in holistic healthcare and promoting harmony and peace worldwide. She also highlighted the importance that the United Nations has attached with Yoga by declaring 21 June as International Day of Yoga being celebrated every year. She mentioned the increasing number of venues and participants in celebration of International Day of Yoga with every passing year which is an indication of popularity of Yoga in Cambodian citizens specially among youths. 

Minister of Education, Youth and Sport appreciated the effort of Embassy of India in promoting old age Indian culture of Yoga in Cambodia and encouraged the general public to join regular Yoga classes to be conducted from Monday to Friday between 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. 

Inauguration ceremony was followed by Yoga session which was attended by more than 100 participants including Ambassador, Minister, Secretary of State, Director General of Sport of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and their families.
